Tigers Compete at JK Gold Classic
WICHITA, Kan. – Fort Hays Tech Northwest Cross Country kicked off their season at the JK Gold Classic on Saturday, where the team placed 14th overall with a score of 419 points.
"It was a great opportunity to get out and race," commented Coach Mendez. "This was our first meet of the season, and despite the muddy conditions, I'm proud of the way we competed and gave our best effort. I know we're capable of achieving even more, and I'm glad the athletes recognize that as well."
Individual Results:
- Salisu Habibu placed 71st, with a time of 20:56.4
- Noah Mitchell placed 139th, with a time of 24:21.8
- LJ Willis placed 150th, with a time of 26:07.0
- Rhilin Turner placed 152nd, with a time of 27:34.3
- Younes Azoug placed 154th, with a time of 29:05.8
FHNW's next meet will be on September 20th at the Woody Greeno/Jay Dirksen Invitational in Lincoln, Nebraska.
