Cross Country Competes at Greeno/Dirksen Invite
LINCOLN, Neb. – Fort Hays Tech Northwest competed in the Woody Greeno/Dirksen Invitational on Saturday, with a total of four runners competing.
"First 8K race of the season in the books," commented Coach Mendez. "Our freshmen got their first real taste of what it's like to compete at this distance. It's never easy, but they went out, gave what they had, and now we'll get back to the grind to keep improving. Our lone Sophomore, Salisu, showed great progress, running three seconds faster than last year on the same course, despite tougher conditions this time around. Couldn't be more proud of this group, and I'm excited to see the growth and performances in our next race."
Individual Results:
- Salisu Habibu placed 137th, with a time of 27:11.8
- Rhilin Turner placed 297th, with a time of 32:48.2
- Noah Mitchell placed 306th, with a time of 33:41.4
- LJ Willis placed 307th, with a time of 33:54.4
FHNW's next scheduled meet is for October 11th, at the FHSU Tiger Open in Hays, KS.
