Tigers Compete at Coyote Challenge & Kansas Relays
Fort Hays Tech Northwest Track & Field competed in two different meets over the weekend. The short-distance runners and throwers went to the Coyote Classic in Salina, Kansas, while the middle and long-distance runners competed in the Kansas Relays in Lawrence, Kansas.
Coyote Classic Results:
In the women's 200m dash, Mikela Coombs placed 3rd, with a time of 25.48 seconds.
In the 400m run, Maciej Bachlaj finished 17th, with a time of 52.52 seconds.
In the 400m hurdles, Noah Mitchell placed 3rd, with a time of 57.68 seconds.
In the 800m run, Maciej Bachlaj finished 21st, with a time of 2:01.20.
In the field events, James Horton placed 24th in the javelin throw, with a throw of 32.74 meters.
Justin Peretz would place 33rd in shot put, with a throw of 9.59 meters.
Kansas Relays Results:
In the women's 800m run, Carolyne Jepkosgei placed 16th, with a time of 2:28.16.
In the men's 800m run, Kamogelo Thipe placed 1st, with a time of 1:54.23. Salisu Habibu would finish 20th, with a time of 1:59.34.
In the 1500m run, Lucky Maila placed 13th, with a time of 4:04.36. In the 1500m run (unseeded), Sibonokuhle Thwala placed 12th, with a time of 3:54.65.
In the women's 5000m run, Celestine Kiborus finished 20th, with a time of 19:39.70.
Track & Field's next meet will be at the FHSU Alex Francis Meet in Hays, Kansas, on April 24th.
